- I am having some trouble with my scsi controller (IVS Vector.) and am
- looking for aid and comfort. My tale of woe is as follows: An A2000 with
- a Vector card, two hard drives, a cd rom drive and a new Zip drive added
- on the outside. Since I added the zip I have been having odd and
- intermittent problems. Some crashes on boot up. Some checksum errors.
- The loss of a couple of partitions during a crash. (Fortunately mostly
- backed up, but a pain none the less.) I think that the problem may be
- with addressing, but am not technically smart enough to be sure or to know
- what to do about it. I can re address the Vector via jumpers, but as I
- said am not smart enough to do so. An indication of what might be
- happening may be that I can only get Hard Disk Toolbox to work by using a
- patch which was kindly sent me from a Vector user in the U.S. All other
- SCSI type monitors or set up programs seem to have great problems with the
- card. I also can not get at the WB3.1 boot up options by holding down both
- mouse buttons. Any ideas or suggestions will be appreciated.
